Climate Health Resilience Research Network (CHARRN)
As a new Faculty Research Network, CHARRN aims to bridge critical gaps in research and policy to tackle climate change, health disparities and socioenvironmental resilience.
¾Ã²Ý¸£Àû
CHARRN aims to ensure that climate adaptation strategies integrate equity, benefiting all communities and not inadvertently worsening social and health inequalities.
The network is co-led by Dr Chengzhi Peng from the School of Architecture and Landscape; Dr Jill Thompson from School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery; Dr Katie Powell from the School of Medicine and Population Health; Dr Maria Val Martin from the School of Biosciences; and Dr Erica Ballantyne from the Management School.
What we do
This team combines expertise in built environment resilience, health equity, participatory public health, atmospheric science, and operations and supply chain resilience. CHARRN aim to submit ambitious, interdisciplinary grant applications to major funding streams and to build partnerships with NHS trusts, local authorities, industry, NGOs, charities, and international institutions to ensure real-world impact.
