We are committed to supporting students and staff who are fleeing war and persecution. We have a range of scholarships, schemes and support available and we welcome those seeking sanctuary to join our Sheffield community.

Sanctuary scholarships

The University offers five Sanctuary Scholarships for students who are experiencing forced migration due to war or persecution.

The University’s Lifelong Learning team offers the Discover Course for adults over 21 who haven’t been to university but are interested in accessing higher education in the UK.

The University has a number of resources available for current staff who are affected by the war in Ukraine or have been forced to migrate to the UK for other reasons.
