- Profile
 -

I received my PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Newcastle University in 2020, following which I worked in the same laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Professor Heath Murray. During this time, I worked to further our understanding of the key process of bacterial DNA replication initiation in the model organism Bacillus subtilis and the pathogen Staphylococcus aureus.
In 2024 I joined the group of Dr Thomas Darton within the Clinical Infection Research Group (CIRG) to provide microbiological experience for the ongoing work to develop models to investigate host-pathogen interactions during staphylococcus aureus carriage and infection.

- Qualifications
 -

BSc in Biological Sciences (Genetics)
Msc in Human and Molecular Genetics
PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology

- Research interests
 -

My interests are in the bacterial pathogen Staphylococcus aureus. My current work includes characterising clinically relevant strains of S. aureus, involvement in a Staph human challenge model and supporting clinical trials aimed at improving our understanding of the human immune response to staph infection.
