Profile

Merve is a Lecturer in Operations Management and Decision Sciences at Sheffield University Management School.

Before joining the University of Sheffield, she worked as a Senior Research Associate at Lancaster University Management School. She worked for the research project OR-MASTER, in the research group Centre for Transport and Logistics (CENTRAL), addressing the problem of allocating scarce resources at congested airports and developing solution methodologies, especially to solve real-world instances.

Prior to joining Lancaster University, she worked as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate at Warwick Business School, in collaboration with a waste collection company. The aim of the project was reducing the transportation costs of the company and developing a Decision Support System.

Her research interests are modelling optimisation problems, especially related to logistics operations and applying operational research methodologies to solve them.

Research interests: My research interests are modelling optimisation problems, especially in the field of transportation and logistics, and applying operational research methodologies to solve them. I have worked on planning the activities of electric vehicles in urban transportation and I am keen to continue exploring new research areas related to increasing the use of electric vehicles in the transportation sector.
