In 2023, Killian completed his PhD, part of the EPSRC CDT WIRE and sponsored by Siemens, on investigating what actionable information can be extracted from the deployment of continuous water quality monitors within drinking water distribution systems.

After completion, Killian has continued to develop analytics for drinking water quality sensor data, as part of the OFWAT Innovation Fund project "Water Quality as a Service: Treatment 2 Tap". Killian also holds an MSc in Environmental and Energy Engineering from the University of Sheffield and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin.

Additionally, Killian spent 4 years working as a data analyst in test engineering before returning to the University of Sheffield to undertake his PhD.
