Monthly online Fika meetups 2025/2026
Event details
Description
Our monthly Fikas are a chance to take a break from work and connect with other researchers across the University over a cup of tea/coffee who are also interested in participatory research. They're inspired by the Swedish tradition, are a casual space to connect with others over a cup of tea/coffee, share insights, and build a supportive network of researchers.
Everyone's welcome, whether you want to learn about others' research, have questions about a project you're doing, or you're simply craving some social interaction! You can pop in for as little or as long as you like.

All staff and PGTs/PGRs doing, or even just interested in, participatory research from any discipline. We particularly encourage postgraduate students and early career academics to come along!
Find out more about the background to our Fika sessions in this blog post by one of our committee members, Dr Esbjörn Wettermark.
iHuman
How we understand being ‘human’ differs between disciplines and has changed radically over time. We are living in an age marked by rapid growth in knowledge about the human body and brain, and new technologies with the potential to change them.
