Tuition fees for independent applicants and those who apply through an agent for Direct Enrolment:

The tuition fees for 2025/26 are:

  • One semester: £10,325
  • Academic year (two semesters): £19,390

The tuition fees for 2026/27 are:

  • One semester: £10,785
  • Academic year (two semesters): £20,260

Students formally nominated by a partner university for an exchange are not charged tuition fees.


Additional costs

  • Field trips outside of the University - fees for field trips which are part of the course, e.g. in Geography, are payable by the student
  • Private music lessons - students studying music courses at Sheffield are required to pay their own tuition for private music lessons

Living costs

  • Money for living costs - these will vary depending on your lifestyle and factors such as how much you eat out and how much you spend on shopping, hobbies and other activities. Please note that if you need to apply for a Student visa for your study at Sheffield, you may be required to show evidence of set levels of funds in order to obtain the visa.

  • NHS Health Surcharge for students who study for a period of more than 6 months. 
  • Sport Sheffield Membership: Depends on membership chosen.
