Profile

I am a second-year PhD student and my research examines academic language support in English Medium Instruction contexts, where students study their subjects via a foreign language (English). I am interested in exploring practical strategies to support students’ academic success in these settings and fostering effective cross-disciplinary collaboration between language instructors and content-subject specialists. I deliver academic skills workshops and provide study skills tutorials at the 301 Academic Skills Centre, University of Sheffield. Prior to this, I taught English as a Second Language in secondary schools and Academic English in higher education in Vietnam.

Research interests

My research interests include English for Academic/Specific Purposes (EAP/ESP), English Medium Instruction (EMI), collaboration between language and content subject teachers, and action research.
