Profile

I received my PhD degree from Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL), UWE Bristol. After that I joined the University of Sheffield as a post-doctoral research associate at the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering, working on spatio-temporal system identification and analysis. I subsequently became a lecturer in the same department and a member of the Insigneo Institute for in silico Medicine. I am also a member of Neuroscience Institute at the University of Sheffield. My research focuses on signal processing and complex systems with applications in biomedical systems.

Research interests
  • Nonlinear systems identification and analysis in the spatial-temporal domain and frequency domain.
  • Identification and control of PDE systems and coupled PDE–ODE control systems
  • Computationally efficient modelling & simulation including proxy measurement and surrogate modelling
  • Multiscale modelling and analysis of biomedical systems
  • Modelling and simulation of cell response to stresses
  • Application of machine learning and deep learning to medical image classification and segmentation
