Enrico is an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) at the School of Economics of the University of Sheffield.
His research focuses on issues related to urban and regional economics, the economics of innovation, and international economics.
Enrico holds a PhD in economics from the University of Birmingham. He previously worked as a fellow in economic geography at the London School of Economics, and as BA innovation fellow at the ONS Survey and Economic Indicators division.
He is part of the Council of Experts of the Innovation and Research Caucus, and he is an Associate Editor for the journal Economic Modelling.
Enrico leads the Sheffield Urban, International Trade, and Environmental Economics (SUITE) Research Group, and also organises the Bessemer Symposium in the Economics of Innovation hosted every year at the University of Sheffield.

Enrico's research interests are focused on applied microeconometrics, particularly at the intersection between international economics, regional and urban economics, and the economics of innovation.
Specifically, his research looks at firms behaviour, the industrial and spatial distribution of economic activities and innovation, mainly applying advanced micro-econometric methods to granular longitudinal data on firms characteristics, innovation and internationalization.
Enrico is interested in supervising PhD students in applied microeconometrics, specifically in topics related to trade and international economics, regional and urban economics, and the economics of innovation.
