Dr. Ozgur Poyraz, who joined the AMRC in May 2023, works as a Tech Fellow for additive manufacturing and performs diverse project tasks from design for additive manufacturing to post-machining in the additive manufacturing process chain.

Before joining the AMRC he worked for different companies and institutions including Technicut UK, Tusas Engine Industries (a joint venture of General Electric Aviation) and Eskisehir Technical University to conduct research and development projects mostly for aero engine components. He contributed to global aircraft engine programs by delivering machined or additively manufactured parts of titanium and nickel-based superalloys. After receiving his PhD on the modelling of powder bed fusion additive manufacturing of nickel-based superalloys he also had academic involvements by lecturing graduate and undergraduate students, supervising dissertations and publishing articles and book chapters. His current projects at the AMRC includes laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing of high-strength aluminium alloys, tooling optimizations via additive manufacturing and modelling of additive friction stir deposition.
