Profile

I joined the University in March 2012, having worked for 6 years as a Midwifery Practice Facilitator and Senior Midwife on the Labour Ward at the Jessop Wing, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to this I worked as a Midwife Teacher at the University of Nottingham.

I am currently Programme Leader for the Practice of Family Planning and Reproductive Sexual Health course and joint Programme Lead for the Preparation of Supervisor of Midwives course. I also have teaching input on the online MMid and clinical skills programmes.

Professional activities and memberships

I am a Supervisor of Midwives, appointed by the Local Supervising Authority and recorded with the NMC.

I am a member of the Local Supervising Authority (Yorkshire and Humber) Education and Strategy group.

I am a member of the Yorkshire and Humber Obstetric Emergency Skills Drill Steering group.

I continue to work as a midwife in a local maternity unit to maintain my clinical skills and registration as a midwife.
